Farming Pale Hanging Moss ▫ Minecraft Survival Guide S3 ▫ Tutorial Let’s Play [Ep.114]
The Minecraft Survival Guide Season 3 continues in Minecraft 1.21.4 – The Garden Awakens!
In today’s video, we look at the process of mass farming Pale Hanging Moss. Why would you want to do that, when it has no crafting recipes? Well, it turns out this block is the key to a new ambient sound trick Mojang has given us – and as Survival players, we’re always after new ways to make our worlds more immersive.
We take a look at how hanging moss can be farmed manually, and how redstone can help us automate that process – plus a neat trick that’ll save the durability on your shears. After exploring how all this hanging moss can transform the experience of my floating island ship build, we also take a look at farming Weeping Vines and Twisting Vines, since both can be farmed using the same mechanism in two different setups.
I also recap some interior design work I’ve done to finally decorate my blacksmith’s house and dripstone factory.

It was planned. He knew this was coming and waited on messing with the ship until he could add the sound 😂
i want to note that at first i could not hear the creaking until you turned up the block sounds so further testing with sounds slider connection may need to be tested. (unless others have already confirmed this)
I'm so glad you've kept up the survival guide! A lot of other people have switched to almost entirely "rumors" kinds of videos and I'm not big into that. You've taught me a lot about Minecraft over the years and I look forward to more!
He's not ready to be a hermit yet. He still builds backs.
15:40 Why not add some smoke too? Maybe even a hay bale switching on a timer to make it even more animated?
Hi Pix! i wanted to ask that have you ever considered making a public server or smp for us viewers? I'd love to play on world with you…
Imagine if every block came with a sound, our builds would be chaos, please no more sounds, we have a music player to put sounds in areas, I don't want them to be block specific
For the forge portion…You can hide a single lava block in the wall for the noise aspect like you mentioned with the creaking blocks and the boat.
You could hide the anvil armor stand
sound ambience is nice, but i feel like wool blocks should also be able to block sound ambience, not just the sound game mechanism. imagine being able to soundproof hearing a jukebox for example, so that you could have a tavern where downstairs has a jukebox playing, but anyone upstairs in the rooms cannot hear it.
Would this also work for the azalea hanging roots, as well? Asking for a friend. Keep up the awesome work. And, take care. 🧠
I cannot even find a pale garden
😊
It blends in with the island rocks
Very excited for automatic honey block creation w/ crafters!
This is really clever! I’m amazed.
Great work on the back of the ship island.
Really missing out since I cannot make the streams.
Would enjoy a PixlVOD channel to keep up with the progress. Not everybody is into long-form content, though.
A Day isn’t Complete without a Riffs 👌
I'm awake babe
I've never thought of sound design for builds before, definitely a eye opener. Also you can reach a extra block when crouched 😮
Pix, you should make a town with buildings (Like the main house etc) from the Minecraft survival guide season 1 but abandoned.
I do like the direction Mojang is moving in regards to ambience and decorations. Appreciate the very handy and simple contraptions!
It was great seeing you finishing up started projects and renovating those builds. I myself a completionist feel the urge so much to renovate on the past builds you have done. ❤
