When the inventory is open (whether just yours or yours and a chest's), in the upper right hand corner of the inventory screen is a tree like button. Clicking on it opens the CC room bundles for rooms/fish tank/bulletin board that you have unlocked by completing previous bundles. Hover over an item in your or your chest's inventory, and if that button starts pulsating… it is needed for a bundle you have unlocked.
Spring seeds (any seasonal seeds) are foragables… which can be used as gifts, make more seeds, or to complete CC bundles. I tend to plant the seeds to make more foragables so I can make even more seeds. The seeds are useful for making a plant that I and you Brits love to brew the leaves of for a drink… that sells for less than it used to, but still is a decent moneymaker… Caroline 2 hearts door off kitchen. She and Linus are always my first two main friendship goals… Mixed seeds are the seeds from former garden/farm crops (cauliflower/ turnip/potato, etc… Never got a seed that needed a pole or trellis).
Protective radius of scarecrow – up to 8 spaces if I remember correctly.
Hiya Shelab, I have been a subscriber for sometime and thoroughly enjoyed many a let's play of yours – thrilled to see you back on SDV – may I just throw in a reminder to check the rubbish bins (not infront of people mind you) – you can get some great items from rubbish bins – I hope you enjoy this play through as much as I enjoy watching you play – thank you for fab content and lovely narration as you play – cheers ❤
Okay, in the first video you did you said you were going to ignore the small "quests" on the bulletin board, but you should not do that. If you go into Lewis's house next to the divorce book on the left is a prize machine where you can cash in tickets. The bulletin board quests don't always award tickets but it is worth checking from time to time as the rewards from Lewis are usually VERY good.
You NEVER need your scythe outside of the farm now that you have a sword. The scythe is only useful for gathering hay after you build a silo. So leave the scythe at home and take the hoe, in fact, unless you're actually planning on going into the mines you don't even really need your pickaxe when out walking around.
To get hay, you must build a silo… all hay you harvest goes automatically into the silo(s) until it (or them) is (are) filled. To manually empty a silo you need an animal barn/coop that has NOT been upgraded to the final version…. Manually empty the silo so that you can gather more hay. It does not matter where in the game you are, if there is room in a silo, the scythe puts the harvested hay into the unfilled silo.
Me, I always have to buy the training fishing rod (25 gold), limits what type of fish can be caught (basic only), but gives a lvl 5 fishing bar. And to make catching fish easier for me, I keep the left button pressed down while waiting for a bite, then release it to set the hook. Easier on my arthritis, though it does force me to change hands sometimes. I tend to make comments as I watch, pause video and make comment… otherwise something is likely to come up… doggies want a walk, chickens need checked, scammer phone call (most common type I get), that makes me forget. I tend to remember things I have done or read… I do try to be helpful, although it has been somewhere between 4 and 8 months since I played any Stardew Valley extended.. and the farm you have was not downloadable then.
Saw someone play this game it’s called On Your Tail – it looks so good. Very beautiful ❤️
Bookseller is in a small park NE of Joja Mart… it may be blocked by a fallen tree (iron ax needed or a chair)
You can also find books from other sources other than the bookseller. Sometimes you might get duplicates of them, so you can either just read them again, trade them to the bookseller for some nifty items, or you can use them as gifts (certain books being liked or loved by a few villagers)
As always, awesome video ❤
you make a scarecrow for your cauliflowers so crows dont get them.
A Scarecrow will protect the surrounding circular area of 249 spaces; 8 spaces each to the north, east, south, and west, as well as 6 spaces each to the northeast, southeast, southwest, and northwest. In other words, it protects a 17×17 area, excluding 10 spaces in each corner.
SDV 1.6 – Nope, no catching frogs, that is an Expanded addition. Book Seller is a 1.6 thing – loads of interesting books for perks! In fairness, SDV Expanded plopped a house and some other pathing changes right where an additional sign with the arrow would have been. Friendship hearts tab for pets and farm animals was added in 1.6
General gameplay notes: Spring Seeds (packets) are actually the Spring Forage – the tooltip tells you that it contains an assortment of wild spring seeds. The Mixed Seeds are the ones that will give you a random seasonal crop. To see CC Bundle Info open your inventory – look for button to the right that looks like a tree. Click it to see CC bundles – note that it also flashes when you mouse over things in your bags/chest that are donatable.
P.S.: Never feel bad about pulling up the wiki!!! I've got 6,739 hours invested in SDV and I still need the wiki because I simply can't remember everything all the time!
Yes, you can look at what's needed for the Community Center from your inventory menu. It is the top right button that looks a bit like a tree above the toggle of chest color, add items, and organize buttons. It also flashes when the cursor hovers over a required item.
The most helpful tip I ever got when it comes to fishing is to use your keyboard instead of your mouse to adjust the bobber, the secondary key for left clicking is default set to c. Another tip is to mostly course correct by tapping instead of holding (There are exceptions of course but for easier fish it makes it simpler to do the tiny adjustments you need) And lastly! Like you mentioned yourself, it will get easier! As you level up in fishing your bobber gets bigger. If you want to skip through the early levels Willy's offers a new(ish) rod called the training rod which increases the bobber size to what it would be if you were level 5 in fishing, although it makes it so you can't catch more expensive fish.
Another great video! Thank you!
Make sure to fish at different times of day, and in different weathers. Some appear only in certain seasons
A note for those wanting load the mods (Nexusmods). There are multiple new farms available. One, "immersive farm 2 remastered" come with Grampleton Fields in the mod pack. So if you add this mod, you do not want to seperately add in Grampleton Fields mod… duplicate copies, even with one buried in the immersive farm mod folders will cause problems with the Smapi loader. I do not know if the Grampleton fields will work if I choose a different farm as yet, if it does not I will reply to this note with an update… My old copy of the mods were from May to August, and there were updates in December and January.
The scarecrows are 8×8, I recommend UI Info Suite 2 mod for quality of life as it will show you sprinkler and scarecrow ranges. It will also show you birthdays, weather, luck. Its a major QOL mod.
Herring…. now I want kippers.
23:45 – Dandelion. You spent all that time looking for one last time, and now that you don't need it there it is. 1:29:45 – Fishing conditions are pretty complex, it takes into account the location, season, weather, time of day. On top of that your fishing skill and the type of rod make it easier or more difficult to actually catch the fish. Then there are legendary fish you can only find in particular spots; I think there's a book in the library with hints on this. The easier fish are less complicated, so you can catch smallmounth bass any time of day and in any weather. The upshot is that if you're looking for a particular fish, and you don't want to look up the conditions, then it can take hours of trial and error to find it. You can use the community center for clues though, for example fish in the night fish bundle only appear at night, usually this means after 6 PM.
