    The finch is apart of the summoner class, you cant summon more finches because you dont have the armor or acessorys that expand your summon count, this is why choosing a class should be later on around your first boss, right now just use everything you find. And to see your debuffs and buffs you hover your mouse over the icons under the hotbar.

    That thing you found is not a chest but thats a demon altar… You can craft boss summons on it possible better weapons… Break the orb with a hammer be careful not to do 3 or it will summon the eater of worlds every 3rd orb you break
    Orbs drops either musket (gun), vile thorn (mage weapon), shadow orb (light pet) ,spike tentacles (melee weapon)

    At 6:32 thats basically a block of the corruption biome, which is the purple one.. And you cant break them with your pickaxe except if you use bomb! You can break them easily and try to keep bomb as much you can, since one NPC that sell bomb will come into your place if you build another house for him!and dont forget to make campire bro! You need them for regeneration on your health!

    Some tips for you as someone who has played for like 8 years: 1. Having a full set of a specific armor(such as the cactus armor) on will give set bonuses. This means wearing the helmet, chest plate, and boots for that armor. 2. Make a mine to get resources without having to go past the corruption. 3. Light up the area around your base with torches. 4. That orb you found that you couldn’t break in the purple place can be broken with any hammer, such as the wood one. 5. BREAK THE ORB. This should give you access to the musket which will make the arms dealer move in. He can then sell you bullets and something called the mini shark which is essentially a machine gun. 6. Have fun. This game was the most fun when you figure it out yourself. If there was one game I could play for the first time again, it would be this. Trust me.

    Subscribed! Love the terraria content and you learning the ropes as you go. It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed watching a terraria play through but I subscribed for the commentary, pacing, editing, and overall personality. I look forward to watching your other videos too. If I could suggest another game, I think Project Zomboid Week 1 mod in specific could be fun. Anyway, this was a great video and I can’t wait to watch more!

    if you want to figure things out yourself, then do that. youll always be able to do a better playthrough but youll never be able to experience parts of the game blind again

    You can hold down click on items in the UI to buy, craft, and pick up items significantly faster. When you need to craft 9999 platforms, you don't wanna be doing it one click at a time…
    Also, you can use any item directly from the inventory by just picking it up and clicking on the screen where you want to use it, there's no need to put it in your hotbar.

    Tip, you can build a floating house, by building a Pillar of say, wood, building the house at the top of the pillar, then remove the pillar, there is no gravity for buildings. So this is good, because a lot of invasions are just mobs walking towards your home ON the ground. This is how I build bases, usually. That or completely under ground.

    As a summoner main, I feel very happy seeing someone enjoying a starter summon.

    That being said, if you ever want to go for such a playstyle. I'd recommend you to explore and build more NPC housing for a specific NPC to come in and sell ya a whip to improve your summon's damage.

    I absolutely recommend you to try out fishing. Especially on that Oasis you found on the desert. You just need a fishing rod(which you can easily craft with wood or with iron/lead) and bait. You can obtain bait from catching bugs and worms. So I would also recommend you to get a bug net from the merchant.

    Fishing can provide you with helpful items and a lot of money if you sell the fish you commonly get.

    Here's some advice that I currently have right now:
    – You can actually place down coins including gold coins to flex on your viewers or make you proud of yourself whatever.
    – The shadow orb you saw in the corruption earlier, you smash it with a hammer and that gives you something, be careful not to break 3 or else…
    – The ocean is indeed the world border
    – Craft something from 6 lenses in the demon altar looking thingy and use it at night
    – Yes you can swim with certain accessories
