How Fair Are Terraria’s Negative Reviews?
A few months ago, we went over some negative reviews on Steam and you guys seem to really enjoy those videos. So, we’re back a few months later and we’re going to be checking out Terraria’s negative reviews on Steam and asking how bad are they? Are some of them true or not? Let’s see. Eh, it’s pretty bad. Like, if Minecraft was 2D but had less content and interesting generation. Two out of 10. Listen, I understand if somebody prefers Minecraft to Terraria. I don’t really think that you need to compare the games constantly, but the one thing that you have to give Terraria over Minecraft is content. I don’t see any way somebody could deny that Terraria has far more content than Minecraft, cuz that’s one of those things where it’s just objective. Terraria has significantly more items, more boss fights, more weapons, more tools, more armor, more everything. I would say the biggest appeal to Terraria over Minecraft is the fact that it just has so much stuff, good and bad. So, like I said earlier, I would get if somebody preferred Minecraft to Terraria, but to say that Terraria has less content is just ridiculous. Clearly, you’ve not played enough of the game. This Angler quest is so bad. Remove this garbage from your game, I beg. Uh, kind of valid, I guess. Fishing is kind of overed in Terraria at this point. I really don’t think it’s as bad as a lot of people say it is, but angler quests are pretty annoying. I’ve said this before, but I really hate the fact you can only do one per day. So, it’s a little bit overblown, but I get it. They have been promising 1.4.5 4.5. For more than 3 years, they have been advertising their merch in news posts, and there is still no exact release date for the update. I don’t think this is nearly big enough of a deal to leave a negative review on Steam, but it is true. I think it’s fair to say that it’s gotten kind of annoying how long they’re taking. This could be incorrect, but somebody reputable that I know said that the gap between Terraria 1.4.4 and 1.4.5 is becoming nearly as big as the gap between 1.3 and 1.4. And something tells me 1.4 4.5 is not going to be as big of an update as 1.4 was. I’m actually perfectly fine waiting a long time for a good update because like all things, it’s better that we get a good product instead of a rushed one. But I still feel like there should be some more clarity. Like, can we please just get a real estimate on when Terraria 1.4.5 is coming out, even if that’s next year in 2026 or later this year or something? I mean, seriously, because let’s be real, this update has to be close to finished by now. Every new state of the game has less new content than the last. And ultimately, I feel like they’ve got to be pretty close to finishing this update if they haven’t finished it already. I still expect it to come out probably later in the year, like winter or something, but again, we don’t know because there’s no clarity. In master mode, hellbats do 40 damage. That’s way too much for a freaking bat. And in hell, you get bombarded with enemies. I’d be better off seeing 20 enemies instead of the 50 that I see on screen. Okay, so what I’m gathering from this is that this guy is very angry because master mode is difficult. It’s master mode. Good game, but with the current version, this game constantly lags/ freezes at me at the most inconvenient times. I recommend this game, but just not in this state. Open a chest, 25% chance to freeze for 5 seconds. Take damage, 25% chance to wait 5 seconds. Even just standing still and moving the mouse too fast can cause the game to freeze up. I hate to be that guy, but this sounds a lot more like a computer issue or a console issue than an issue with the game itself, cuz I have never dealt with this. Even a few years ago when I had a really really bad computer, I was not getting constant lag spikes in Terraria. Maybe this is some sort of issue with Mac or something, but at least on computer on Windows, it’s not really a big problem. Meh. Game is unplayable now compared to 6 years ago. Lol. Yeah. I mean, this guy is just spitting heat. He’s telling it like it is. Uh, gaming isn’t fun anymore. Terraria, more like terrible and tedious. Oh, Terraria. You know, this game is supposed to be the quintessential 2D sandbox experience. You’re telling me this is the game people still rave about? Please. All it is is a never-ending grind of placing blocks, mining the same materials over and over, and building pointless structures that get wiped out the moment you venture into a new biome. Okay, this is AI generated. Attempted to try it out with a few friends who had been playing for years. Felt like I was struggling to understand how to build a house while they were out killing a massive monster. Attempted to try it out with a couple friends who had been playing for almost thousands of hours. Felt like I was struggling to figure out how to traverse the map and mine resources while they were killing Satan. I actually think this is a pretty big problem in the Terraria community or with Terraria players in general. I’ve noticed a lot of times when my friends try to get into Terraria, some of my other friends will try to quote unquote help them or guide them and what they’re really doing is just speedrunning the game and having them tag along. When you’re playing Terraria with a completely new player, you have to let them discover some things while also helping them out. Going off and fighting the Eye of Cthulhu while they’re figuring out how to build a house or going and fighting the Wall of Flesh while they’re still discovering gold armor is just ridiculous. And I know it sounds like I’m exaggerating, but there are a lot of Terraria veterans who basically do this when playing with new players. The best way for a new player to learn Terraria is with a friend, but that friend has to be on the same journey as them, and they need to be guiding them rather than completely pushing them ahead. And that’s it for the Terraria reviews. Honestly, a little bit more reasonable than I think you would expect. What do you think about any of these opinions? Make sure to leave your thoughts in the comments. And as always, make sure to subscribe because we’re only about 800 away from 3,000. We’re getting close and I could use your help. All right.
How bad are terraria’s negative reviews? Let’s talk about it.
90% of people who dislike Terraria did not make it past night one. The other 9.99% likely did not make it past the Wall of Flesh. The remaining 0.01% negative actually have a good reason to not like the game.
dying from the guy complaining that master mode is too difficult LMAO
Seeing no cons in long time of 1.4.5, after waiting 2.2 update in geometry dash this feels like a breeze
Atleast terraria somewhat makes every update promising unlike Mojang just doing mob votes for the money rather than just add everything already that they had created. Minecraft Devs literally said also said in the clip they won't be adding sharks to Minecraft because a child would apparently go into the ocean and want to kill it.
They woke asf 💀
1.4.5 will add skyblock seed which will make me explode
Bro, i have gtx 1050 ti and r5 3600, what is guy in negative section yappin about? My pc can be considerate dog water in 2025, but i dont even remember getting freezes, like damn, even when i had gtx 550 ti it didn't freeze. Is he playing a port on calculator or what?
I agree with the master mode one. Master mode is just artificial difficulty just higher number, expert gave bosses more moves and different ai
i dont get fishing quests hate in terraria, i think it adds interesting daily dynamic to the gameplay loop, but normies dont think that deep, they claim its too grindy and then they (you in this case) say you wish you could do more than one per day, so you want them to be even more grindy? simply do a quest and move on with your day (in terraria) because there are other things to do in the game either way, and if you really want to fish more its not like you cant, just keep fishing all day if you so desire. I think people are mad because of complete 50 fish quests achievement and it takes a while to complete and theyre just impatient achievement hunters but thats just a theory… a game theo-

the final review is so true i dont know how to guide my friend so i just drag him a long with me while giving him item and let him fighting bosses along with me
Weird that one review mentions performance, I don’t have a great pc and can even freeze when I try and boot up smthn like word but terraria still runs pretty fine for the most part, only really creating new worlds seems to lag my pc, minecraft on the other hand…
I'm on a MacBook Pro. No lag spikes.
"2d Minecraft"
yeah that "playing with friends" is a really big problem, i also had a friend that didn't like terraria because she couldn't play it properly while her friends just went speedrunning the game and saying the most basic trash advice while she was really far behind and not understanding the game, like they were preparing to go fight plantera and she still had a ruby robe and a wizard hat that they gave to her, don't be that kind of friend if you are going to play with someone new to the game.
my favorite approach when playing with a new player is becoming sort of like a helper minion. just there to support and give tips when necessary. but I do enjoy trolling here and there because everyone should experience the joy of enterin the dungeon before skeletron
Noone made a video like this! Creative content!
the one thing that people complaining about 1.4.5 need to realize…. theres other games. go play cassette beasts, or oneshot, or rain world, or literally any other indie game instead of replaying terraria again. take a break from it. occupy your gaming thoughts with other stuff for a while and the update will get here faster.
“Terraria has less content” Somebody didn’t fight a single boss…
The biggest issue for brand new player who doesn't spent a week reading Wiki (like I did) is figuring out how to build a house- specially whats the difference between BLOCK and back-walls. They also have hard time grasping the concept that hey need more than 1 house to get any npcs. I watched first time player get as far as killing Wall of Flesh, and NEVER building the second house. So no merchant, no goblin tinkerer, never discovered Sky Island, never found meteorite etc, but he made it to hard-mode and he only had 280 health when he did =)
0:15 188 hours on record, i think he is joking, dont know why.
I started playing terraria with a friend who hadnt played before
I have almost 5000 hours on steam alone and for that playthrough with that friend i essentially lobotomized myself, best choice i couldve made tho cus i love just messing around with a buddy
If they have any questions tho i answered, otherwise i was a dingus
They wanted to beat skeletron first because thats the only other boss they knew about (they kept calling him skelethor too which was awesome)
Fishing is oppropriately hated
Terraria 1.4.5 on Terraria's 16th birthday?
May 16th?
Terraria and Minecraft shouldn't be compared; Terraria is more combat/progression focused, while Minecraft is more about exploration and building.
When it came to my first run of Terraria, I have a friend with like 700 hours painstakingly spend the better part of three months playing through it with me and another couple friends. The patience he showed is actually astounding to me now that I've spent a lot longer on the game. We spent like a week playing before flying eyeball of death (Cthulhu) decided to spawn naturally lol
(There were four of us total. We had one person in each class except for melee where we had two)
i have a potato pc that can fails to run anything besides mostly 2d pixelated games and i do not have the problems he is talking about. your pc must be REALLY bad if it freezes up in TERRARIA of all things.
that last one reminds me of the time i was playing with my friend who was new to the game. he had been given a zenith and full solar armor by his other friend who played the game. we were exploring the pre-hardmode underground desert and he managed to die like 5 times while i did not die at all because he managed to run into practically every sand trap that was down there.
the lag spikes issue is real tho, my pc isn't bad by any means maybe a lil outdated but that's all and i still get some lagspikes from time to time
I like how like 70% of there reviews are left by people with 100+ hours in the game
I love how red just gave up with the "final update"
"Too hard on Hard diffulcity"
The Game the worst game I've ever played, from the eye cancer enducing "art style" to the insanly annoying small enemies and incredible DULL grinding. You basicly do the same thing over and over again, get armor -> defeat another eye raping Boss -> craft new armors.
Fuck this game.
When I was learning Terraria a couple momths ago, I had a friend guide me and he helped so much. We didn't play together because I was on 3ds at the time, but I still managed to get to hard mode within a few hours of playing with his help.
I know have a mobile Master Mode world (even if I just got past the Eater of Worlds)
Ok let me give a negative not serios review.
I been waiting for terraria 3ds update for years and i am stuck on 1.2.1 version. How dare you!!!!
ITS BEEN 12 YEARS!!! Where is my version 1.4.4.9 for 3DS. AND NO I DONT CARE IF THEY SHUT DOWN THE SHOP!!!
The last one is so real, whenever i played with a friend thats new to the game I always make sure they're doing everything at the same pace as me and try to teach them as much as possible. In my last play through with a friend 2 others joined in and all of a sudden we beat the game 20 hours in
