I did think that though Parrot didn't show it, he did care about BAT. He eventually opened up to Leo. Then showed Derapchu that being himself was ok. Saw the power of a friend in Jumper. Also helped Nufuli see who he could be.
And it makes sense; Parrot lost all his friends. Wifies to the Director. He lost a lot of his capacity to care, at least openly.
