My first attempt at making a “door” without the door (lol), I see some buildings like this, I have a villager inside and I feel like it's not safe enough, the base itself is very safe, but sometimes a mob or another appears. Help me?

You can dig a (deep) hole under the door, put a sign on the side of the top block of the hole and put a carpet on the sign to cover the hole… The mobs will just see the hole and not cross but you can just walk on carpet
