Back again with another post for the world I'm working on, this time it's the aboveground portion and whilst I love the path I've made, I'm struggling on how to blend that dark tuff into the grass so I can add some details to the sides of the path like walls/lanterns.

I'm envisioning things like farms and buildings to be built alongside the paths, of which the foundations will all be made of a stone/andesite/cobblestone mix if that helps pick any blocks to help blending my path out :3

Thank you for all the help on my last post, too. I love this sub 🙂

  1. What if instead of tuff and tuff bricks you tried a lighter shade of grey, maybe using some mossy bricks and mossy cobblestone

  2. Keep the tuff, add mossy cobble and bricks and sparingly add moss carpets over the tuff. Bonemeal the grass directly beside the path and hopefully get some flowers and ferns drawn into the mix. Kind of standard issue scheme for someyhing like this I feel. Lots of ppl doing it because it looks good.

  3. Mossy cobble will be super helpful. Also, consider using pale moss blocks with plants growing on top. I’ve found this is a great way to emulate the “weeds poking through the margins” effect so commonly seen on paths and streets.

Try some random coarse dirt on the edges so grass can’t grow over it and it will look like worn edges of the path, then bonemeal the grass and remove the parts of the resulting growth you don’t like, such as anything that doesn’t suit the vibe (i.e. grass too tall, too many flowers, etc) and plant/built some trees to give the terrain some more depth.

I’d argue that the path doesn’t need to blend into the terrain, but you need to do some terraforming and transform the grassy area. It needs texture, it looks off because it’s flat

  6. in addition to what others said – mud might match the tuff well, though it’ll need blending with the grass too. I’m sure it’s easier to flow from mud to grass though, if you don’t mind the blending to be a bit wide. could also just put it under any bushes you make
