Why Terraria’s Desert Needs It’s Own Boss. #terraria

If Terraria ever added a new boss, which biome should it be in? Well, there are a few options like space or the underground mushroom biome. But ultimately, I think the biome that needs a unique boss fight the most is the desert. Hear me out. The desert is one of the most underwhelming biomes in the entire game. It has great early game loot, but outside of that, it doesn’t play an essential role in progression at all. If there was a unique boss for the desert, it would become a lot more memorable, just like how Deerclops made the snow biome a little more interesting. When it comes to what the desert boss could be, there are plenty of options. A sandworm like in the Calamity mod, a vulture like Thorium, or a coffin like Fargos. I’ve always found the desert to be an underwhelming biome in Terraria, and I think having its own bus, if done right, could change

Does Terraria’s desert biome need it’s own boss? Let’s talk about it.

  1. My pitch would be “The Pharoh God” post plantera strength can be fought at the beginning of hard mode summoned by looting a sarcophagus in the underground desert

  2. The one and only desert scourge and its ocean origins would make for a refreshing experience and would make early and late game explorations of the desert and ocean actually worth the teouble of ant lions and sharks.

  3. What about a tomb in the underground desert, like the jungle temple, with a mummy boss that summons scarabs, antlions, wraiths, etc. It could drop summoner items that scale to early hardmode.
You can mine the bricks of the tomb after getting chlorophyte tools.
To enter, you need to slay a previous boss like a bounty hunter / tomb raider for the key, which is a player-like boss.

  4. i don't think a boss would help the desert much, i think it just needs to be more interesting on the surface. the underground desert is fine, it's unique and the loot isn't bad, but the surface desert does absolutely nothing and isn't interesting to traverse

  5. For the desert, I want a water boss. A water boss that absorbed and hoarded all the water, the humidity , the moisture it find for itself, explaining why the desert exist in the first place.

  6. It should be a boss that stands between eye of Cthulhu and worm/brain. It should drop some summer and mage weapons since both classes ( ESPECIALLY the summoner) are really underpowered until the evil biomes bosses.

  7. There's very few reasons to go to the desert even less if you're not doing ranger so a boss would help a lot but the problem is what point of progression would it be in? I'd say either pre mechs or between evil biome and queen bee

  8. Me and my cousin were pondering this and came up with a sick idea. A hooded flying mummy mage that launches a sand equivalent of dirt bombs that can cause suffocation, and also just drops sand as an attack. This makes it so that you need to be aware of where he’s flying and bring your pickaxe
