I invited 25 of Minecraft’s best builders to
compete in the most intense build challenge ever. Up first, they have 10 minutes to
build the best house they can, and the worst 5 are eliminated. Be good! Acornbandit:

Well, this is gonna be a speed building,
so I’m gonna try to be a little bit more lenient with this…because 10 minutes is a
lot shorter than you think it is. Karl:

people using techniques and being able to build so much faster than the typical

Can these people finish what they started? Because 10 minutes isn’t a lot of time,
and some of them…like maybe bit off more than they can chew in that time. Karl:

I got a little rush… with the exterior. I put a bit too much

A house is nothing without a beautiful view. So I made this nice terrain around it, you know. Hey, come inside! Come inside! It’s a very open plan. Karl:

moving on to the next round… and you set the bar pretty high. So now we’re
gonna be expecting a lot out of you, so you better keep it up. Qu1nten:

Using like, repetitive aesthetics… I think that strategically you probably
handled this one the best. Karl:

Karl: Acornbandit! It’s slightly a little
too simplistic, compared to some of the other builds. We’re gonna have to eliminate you. Acornbandit: Yeah.

small windmill, although very complete… Or this house, which looks very well built,
but incomplete. They bit off a little more than they can

blocks you guys should be able to use to build. For this round, you guys will only be
allowed to build with different types of dirt blocks and different types of glass blocks. You guys can use those blocks to build

It’s one thing to be a really good builder,
but I think it’s also another thing to be a versatile builder, and able to
like…figure things out on the fly and kind of go out of your comfort zone. Karl:

this for a living. Even though they are limited in blocks,

I made, like, a really big spider then,
and there is like a bunch of cobwebs, which is done by glass. Purpled:

No, not wrong at all. I think that they
attempted the most. They did so much in the time that they were

of the smoke, all the flames, the…the brick crumbling. You know. Karl:
It’s a slightly smaller build,
but it’s not all about the size. Purpled:

I think that, like, this shows a lot of
technical skill. And it really shows how rounded you are as a
builder. Karl:
Do you think that it’s worthy of the Top 10? Spritzu:
It’s a lot of good builds out here. But I
mean, I tried something new and different,
so maybe yeah. Karl:

I made a “Wopper Whopper”.

Talk me through what you did with glass! Benjimin:
Basically working with watercolors. And that way I’m able to blend in the
different grains together. I’m using red to darken the pink. And if you look at the background,
that’s a whole gradient, based on binary code. Karl:
The whole background is 6 layers, to make it a gradient. Purpled:
It’s hard to tell there’s blocks in there.
It’s just very smoothly transitions in color. Karl:
Obviously this is surrounded by builds that
are significantly taller than this. But this is so intricate, and clearly took
your whole 30 minutes. Benjimin:
It’s quite…quite precise work. Karl:

We have 2 massive warriors guarding the
bridge. This is a massive Japanese temple. We have swords over here for them to train
and stuff. We have this massive Torii gate in the middle,
that kind of like envelops the whole build as one. Karl:
That’s gorgeous. I love the gate. I love the temple, I love the warriors. I love everything you got going. Purpled:
I really like the greenery,
like the uses of all the different greens. Like these deep slate emerald orbs in the
rocks. These custom trees with like,
the vines hanging down, the lily pads… The landscaping just looks incredible. Ish13c:
30 minutes to build all of this is
absolutely incredible. Well done. Karl:

So we did the theme of mythical with the
giant dragon and the massive swirls of, like, storm up above to,

The castle’s enchanted in general,
because at the bottom there’s a lot of, like, sparks and the whole thing is floating on its

The fact that they were able to do this
dragon so well is really impressive. But I also really love this gateway. I think they did such a good job at the

Now, the simplicity of Purple is very
interesting. Karl:

one wall. I actually think I would be able to keep up

make, like, waves cutting through a mountain. And I guess the cabin is gonna be up here on
top. Ksazu:
Okay, I’m just gonna start on this structure,

It’s crazy how…when they have an hour to work
with it, the amount of structure they’re putting in
first. Ksazu:

I don’t build houses. You can kind of tell. I don’t know if I should cut my losses or
not, but I want an interior. Karl:

Ksazu: I’m starting to question myself if I’m
gonna be able to do interior or not… but I don’t think I will. Purpled:
At the very least, you have to have a cliff…
and you have to have a waterfall. So you get there first, and maybe just some last minute

Just gonna be a little mini one, because I
don’t want to waste too much time on the waterfall. Like, I think having,
like, an actual interior is gonna be kind of important…lowkey. Karl:

right here… day farming. We have a cozy interior. We got all the stashes up here. All the food, the hay,
the melons. And we got some nice sleeping space. My master bedroom right here. We have a giant furnace. We can cook all our food here. Karl:
So what is this waterfall? Because you built it into your build. I gotta
give you points for that. Qu1nten:
You know the tree, it takes up the water,
and then it seeps out from here, and it falls down into the beautiful ocean. Ish13c:
Starts within the tree. That is awesome. Karl: Alright, let’s go ahead and check out the

We’re gonna come in to see the giant’s bed, and…it’s a leaky faucet. Purpled:

We got a nice, lovely,
whimsical chimney that goes up. I tried to go whimsy and organic. Karl:

so I’m hoping the fact that I’m doing this without him seeing is gonna pressure him a
lot. I want him to be scared. Qu1nten:
What is he doing? Is he gonna make a one way
build? He probably will. Ksazu:
I’m nervous. Not knowing what the other
person is gonna do… Terrifies me. Qu1nten:
Alright. We got our little landscape here. I’m trying to build something. Like, kind of “alien-like”. I’m gonna just make a lot of big buildings,
and maybe I have to make cooler terrain, but I’ll do the terrain later. I think he’s
going for something more… a little different. So I’m excited to see
what he does. Ksazu:
I’m curious to know what Qu1nten thinks of
me. We’ve both made it to the Finals. We’ve beaten great builders. I think once he sees my vibe,
what I’m gonna do… I’m gonna feel a bit of pressure. Qu1nten:
I know these 4 hours will go, like they will fly by for
sure. So it’s kind of gonna be like a “castle-y…ish”
build. You know, I can’t really go for the cliché. The other guy is doing something,
but I don’t know, because I can’t really see. Ksazu:
So this is gonna be my little corner. I’m gonna start doing some trees. I want, like, a big tropical tree. Qu1nten:
He’s still doing training,
thinking what’s smart to do here? ‘Cause he’s got some, like,
interior thing going, which I do like a lot. Ksazu:
I saw him looking at my stuff. I thought he was sneaky,
but he isn’t. I was feeling good, and now I’m anxious again. I’m betting on an exploration
thing. I want to make something that they can like
walk around, explore and be amazed. Qu1nten:
A little bit of focus mode,
I guess…because time is going to start flying soon and then,
you know…you never know. 4 hours. Ksazu:
It’s me and Qu1nten. It’s like even. But I feel like they’ve seen plenty of
structures already, and I’m hoping they value creativity. Karl:
Qu1nten and Ksazu, we’re officially at the
halfway point of this build competition. I’m gonna ask you guys a simple question. Will you remove one of your 2 hours that
you have left to build? But if you win, you’ll get $15,000 instead of
$10,000. Ksazu:
I think that’s a great idea. Qu1nten:
I think I’m good with 3 hours. I think I’m down to…to take the money. Karl:
So look! The thing is…
Ksazu, you can say yes to that. Qu1nten can say no. So Qu1nten might get the
full 4 hours, you might only get 3 hours. But if you
end up winning, you’ll get $15,000 instead of $10,000. Ksazu:
As of now, we have, like,
very different builds… and I think I can finish my whole thing in
the next hour. Qu1nten:
Yeah, honestly, like I’m confident right now.
The build is looking good. I don’t think that the difference between 3 and 4 hours is not
that much. Karl:
Alright, well…Qu1nten, Ksazu… You now only have 1 hour to build
left. Congratulations! Go back to your plot and get

I know Qu1nten for a bit. If he had the chance to make more money and
build for less time, why wouldn’t he take it? Qu1nten:
That’s just an easy choice. Let’s be
honest here! Ksazu:
So I’m almost done with the pillar here. It
is a very Aztec builder, which actually I want. I got 40 minutes. Qu1nten:
Like, I want to do a statue,
but I’m scared if it will be really what I want. Ksazu:
Okay. I’m done. Uh…I genuinely don’t know
what else I could add. Qu1nten’s build is just perfect. Karl:
It is down to you, guys. We started with 25 of the best builders I can
find in all of Minecraft, but now it’s just you. And look! You guys both decided individually
to take an hour away from your build. So these were both done in actually 3
hours, instead of 4…to raise the price from $10,000 for the winner to $15,000. Alright, Ksazu. Let’s see it! Ksazu:
Alright. So when we go down here,
we get these beautiful sides of this open cave. Lush… Ish13c:

Purpled: Yeah, I really like this. Karl:
You, like, just discovered a civilization
that people didn’t know it existed. Ksazu:
I tried to go with the Aztec, because it’s a
style that I’ve never really done before. Karl:
Yeah. So you’re in the Final of the best
build competition. You said: “Let’s just do something I’ve never
done before!”. I respect that. Ksazu:
You can tell I’m very confident. Instead of just a building,
I decided I want to change something from “vanilla”. So I actually turned this into the
stronghold. Not that I did the whole dungeon,
because maybe if I had an hour… Karl:
When I’m in this…looking at this temple from
the inside of this cave, I forget that we gave you a specific plot of
land to work with. Ish13c:
You actually said exactly what I was gonna
say. I just love the immersion. Purpled:
Yeah, exactly. You were in this plot,
but it shows that it’s just a big old system of caves and waterfalls and stuff. I think it’s really cool. Karl:
Like, there must have been parts of this
competition that you forgot that Qu1nten was literally, like, 50 blocks away from you. Ksazu:
His presence was always menacing. Karl:
Alright, well…we’re gonna go check in on
that menacing presence. We’ll be right back. Alright, Qu1nten…let’s do it! Qu1nten:
Yeah. Welcome! It’s an ancient ruin. So there’s a lot of overgrown areas. I tried to make it look very old and worn
down. All of the roofs are tainted by “Lily of the
Valleys”, some little flowers that are growing on the
top. There’s big breaches…of which one has broken
down, and there’s a ship dock now attached to it. Big vines hanging from the rocks,
roads leading up and in and out of the building. There’s a dragon egg in the middle… being protected and shooting out a laser beam
into the sky. I’m trying to go for like it’s been a long
lost area with now a lot of overgrown parts to it. Karl:
Qu1nten! 3 hours…and you made all of this. That is so ridiculously impressive. Ish13c:
I don’t know how you would describe this
theme. I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s a combination of so many different
things. Karl:
But it all still feels very cohesive,
to be fair. Like, it doesn’t feel like he just mashed a
bunch of stuff together. We have a very difficult decision to make. Before I went inside of Ksazu’s build,
I thought that it was a for sure loss… But this is as close as any competition has
gotten for me. Purpled:
I think there are like very different styles. Qu1nten went for like completely focusing on
the building and the structure, versus Ksazu going for the environment and like…the immersion. Karl:
Shovel! From a professional builder
standpoint, is there one that’s a clear winner here? Shovel241: Yeah.
Karl: Without saying which one it is, explain why! Shovel241:
I think that one build attempted more and
succeeded more. Karl:
