How To Fix Terraria’s Late Game. #terraria

Terraria’s late game is very underwhelming and honestly I think it’s the worst stage of the game by far. So let’s talk about a few things that RLogic could do to improve Terraria’s late game. First of all, reworked Golem. This boss fight is fundamentally disappointing. The issue is that if he gets buffed, he will become way too powerful in a small arena, but if we leave it as it is right now, he’ll continue to be lame and disappointing. This fight needs a full rework after this. I think there needs to be more content in between Gollum and the lunatic cultists. So much amazing gear opens up after you defeat Planter, and you don’t gain access to a lot of new content after Gollum. In comparison, a simple change like moving the Frost Moon and Pumpkin Moon events to post Golem could make progression a lot smoother. The final change I would love to see is a nerf to the celestial pillars. Call it a skill issue. Call it whatever you want, but this part of the game is nothing but repetitive and frustrating. Having to kill 50 enemies instead of 100 per pillar would immediately make this event less monotonous. It still wouldn’t be amazing, but at least it wouldn’t be as annoying as it is

Honestly i dont think moving things from post plantera to post golem is necessary bc things like the pumpkin and frost moon are usually done post golem anyway. i do think that the cultist should be significantly harder and that it should have some additional requirement to unlock after you beat golem

I don’t think late game really needs to be change the problem is that people like to rush the end game there’s plenty to do if you want there’s the moon events, martians, ooa, eol, duke, getting class specific armour, and even the weapons it’s not like the pillars make any per pillar weapons bad, Terra blade is still good on moon lord, terraprisma isn’t even a pillar weapons and it’s the best summon. It not that there a lack of stuff or that your stuff becomes bad in late game it’s that people chose not to do it and then complain that there not enough stuff to do when there.

I tjink they should add time between lunatic Cultis and celestail pillars like maybe add a boss rush in between them and then fighr Celestial Pillars then dint summon moon lord agter a few minuetsinstead of 1 minuet but prehaps half an hour so people can have a break and ifyou leave Moonlord would spawn after the usual minuet delay. Also idk why Celestial pillars require 50 enemies for me maybe cuz im in post moonlord

  4. Lunatic cultist and golem are very underwhelming bosses to transition to the moon lord, we need a grander challenge, like how we had a giant skeleton before the wall. THAT WAS ACTUALLY COOL, as opposed to just. Some GUY in blue robes before "PRACTICALLY A GOD"

  5. My biggest problem is that the pillar weapons are too strong. There are so many cool events and bosses with tons of really fun weapons that become available in post-Plantera and post-Golem, but most of them end up being pointless, since you can just go straight for the cultist and pillars to get all the strongest weapons much more easily than doing any of the side content.

  6. Make the pillar weapons post moon lord I hate how they pretty much outclass all other weapons, it makes doing duke fishron and empress a waste of time and kinda incentivises just rushing the lunar event right after golem.

  7. Reworking the Lunatic Cultist to be actually difficult would also help Terraria’s endgame a lot! Give the guy a second phase, more bullet hell style attacks, more minions, etc. Doing so would make all the cool Empress, Duke, and Post-Golem gear WAY more useful before it gets replaced by the Pillar weapons.

  8. Okay so duke and empress are intended to be fought after golem. What I want is that the weapons they drop get up scaled to be around as strong as the pillar weapons. It would give so much more variety but your stuck with the pillar weapons base game unless you wanna huge challenge (except melee Terra blade still works till the end of the game)

  9. People need to realize golems not that easy of a boss its just that plantera opens up so many new different and super strong weapons like the terra blade and adding the new dungeon enemies.
