Everything You Didn’t Know About Gifting in Stardew Valley #stardew

Gifting in Stardw Valley can be super important for your in-game progress if you’re working towards certain quests, perfection, or even if you just want a little shadow monster to live out the rest of your days with, which is why understanding how gifting works is super important. And it’s more misunderstood than you might expect. So, here’s all of the info you really need to know. For the obvious details, you are able to gift to a villager once per day up to two gifts per week, unless it’s their birthday, in which you can give an additional gift on that day if you’ve already gifted twice that week. And for something you may not already know, giving two gifts in one week to a villager will actually gain you additional friendship points that will be awarded on the morning of the following week. Now, speaking of the gifts themselves, obviously, depending on the specific NPC’s preferences, the friendship points gained or lost will vary whether they love, like, or hate the item. But what is often missed is that the points gained or lost are also affected by the quality of the item. So where normal quality items are unaffected, silver quality will have a 10% increase, gold at a 25% increase, and aridium at a 50% increase in friendship points gained or lost. And these friendship points will be further affected on event days like the Feast of the Winter Star or birthdays, as well as if you’ve read the book Friendship 101, that increases any friendship gained by 10%. Happy gifting.

  1. If you give an iridium quality loved gift and a stardrop tea on their birthday, it will nearly max out their friendship in one shot.
