About Marnie and Lewis, I totally agree. She should break up with him for her own good. Marnie clearly seems to be easily manipulated and dependent in love. And Lewis, as we know, He is not a saint at all (his golden statue alone says a lot about his true self and how he sees himself).
Pierre and Caroline, I don't know. Because, actually, both of them are old-fashioned with their daughter. And really, everyone hides things, even from those closest to them (It doesn't matter if it's something small or huge). There's nothing wrong with that; relationships don't work just because of pure truth and eternal love. That doesn't exist, even if I wanted it to. Although I can think more about the fact that he cares more about his store than his family.
And, finally, Robin and Demetrius. I think a lot of people are actually really pissed off that Robin is married, honestly. And on top of that, for someone they consider "boring, weird, almost an idiot" (which speaks very badly of them, and I don't think Robin would want to be with someone like that). I don't think their relationship is toxic, just difficult. They're basically opposites, and "opposites attract" isn't an accurate statement. It doesn't necessarily refer to the "good" kind of attraction, and after attraction comes understanding, which is difficult for opposites. That's why the player takes part in precisely those scenes where they don't understand each other. It's like a thread to unite them again, stronger next time. Now, as for Sebastian, there's no excuse. The end.
Nah, Demetrius and Robin are good together, they have different outlooks on life but they do their best to make it work.
Demetrius doesn't get enough credit. The guy struggles with social cues and norms but he's really trying.
He has a self-help book to try and connect with Sebastian (the latter isn't even trying and is dismissive towards both him and Maru).
And during the cutscene when he picks up tomatoes after Robin asks him to pick up fruit, he acknowledges his mistake but says that he's trying to learn, which Robin responds to with a heart emoticon.
Marriage isn't ever perfect, but a healthy marriage involves communication and both partners doing their best to make it work, something both Robin and Demetrius are doing.
There are dialogues that may indicate Lewis is not doing this because he fears to lose authority, but because he feels he wasted his life being so dedicated to his job. He has a boring existance, he even say that the craziest thing he does is having waffles for breakfast on Wednesdays. Marnie is also single, and looks like she was like this for long, so perhaps this "toxic secretive relationship" is just both roleplaying to make their lives more interesting, to the point that they start to actually believe the town would disaprove it (which is absurd)
To play devil's advocate, I don't think Pierre believes "women belong in the kitchen". As much as I favour Abigail, I think she's just lazy and doesn't want to help. Crying sexist was just to get her own way, like a brat.

Caroline herself is just as old-fashioned and overbearing towards Abigail. Of course, there's also the implied affair with man with purple hair.
CONCERNED APE! LET ME MARRY MARNIE, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
Give me Marnie, I want Marnie

Kent and Jodi are the only decent couple in the whole game π
Not to say that if you marry seb, the first thing demetrius says is to use his bedroom to expand the lab.
I can't believe the only healthy couples in the game are a housewife with his pstd-ridden war veteran husband, and old people

Also Robin is for the lesbians
Demetrius also always gifts Robin the same thing every year on Christmas
"Dimetrius also just doesnt seem to care about robin's son" Compared to Maru, feel like neither does robin lol
