– There’s another guaranteed ladder and it might be a shaft.
“What about Mastery??”
– Actually kind of a boring question, since you only need to grind a single EXP method to get it done. Deep skull cavern dives focused on bombing Iridium is the easiest way to do so without enormous farming infrastructure.
“Can you go faster?”
– Yeah. I’m really proud of Day 15 onwards, but the first two weeks don’t have much going for them due to poor rain. 24 Days sounds super feasible with my strategies, given a better start. This run was hard as heck. I’m not redoing it.
“Do you actually think people are going to read the description?”
– I don’t, no.

Incredible grind! GGs! It’d be cool to include a link to GamerGar’s referenced run in the description. Also, I assume you used save-scumming to find your infested floors, which I don’t think is against the spirit of GamerGar’s runs, since he often resets days. You could add that to the description as well. I think people truly curious about the run will read the description.

What are your tactics to get so much money day 1? Your last video inspired me to try and get to the desert festival year 1, and I've been struggling to get more than 5-700 gold on any given seed. And fishing 700 gold by 5 without bubbles is brutal.

tip: on console, you can press ZL to quickly move from the shop menu to the inventory to sell. mentioning this bc i see you scrolling all the way down on shop menus, and i remember that pain lol
Npcs can't break house furniture, so you can just place one of your house's chairs in front of your trailer and she'll always be fast on that map.

I think it’s interesting that foraging is the main bottle neck when it’s also always the first skill I max out
I do have one recommendation for combat rather than the method you employed. Reset skull cavern floor 1 over and over and farm any large slimes, They grant 20 EXP + 10 exp for each slime spawn you kill. Can kill any serpents you bump into on the way to these too.
Time passes more slowly in the skull cavern AND there's no distance to run from the mine exit back to the elevator and back to the floor you'd reset.

I did read the description, I usually like to, especially for challenges like this. Yeah, foraging is the biggest gripe I have with the skill level, it's so difficult to get experience on foraging. The book on foraging do help, but it's still one of the worst skills to try and max in the game. Fishing is usually the first one I get to ten. It's just such a great way to make money, plus you need a lot of fish in the fishing bundles. I will usually avoid the training rod and get the Fiberglass rod ASAP, being able to add bait definitely helps. I try to get to level 6 of Fishing ASAP so I can get the bait maker.
ok, i've been trying to reproduce just the first 4 days and it's not possible without insane luck. Just even being able to get 400 wood on day 1. After 17 free onions, all the horseradish, and some lucky trash bread i couldn't get to 350 even with only topping the trees. Wow.
And the fishing… lvl 4 on day 2?? geez. must have been many bubbles, because with zero bubbles and running straight to the beach at 6am i couldn't even get to lvl 2 before the shop closed. 🙁 and fishing in the same exact spot you were from 7am until passing out only got me largemouth bass and carp (and lots of garbage!). No bullheads. the TV did say the spirits weren't happy… oh well.
As an FYI, one of the farms has yoy start with a fish smoker. It has one per hiuse so can start with up to 8 smokers if you want
