I don't break stuff in the trial chambers but I will place stuff for cover because the skeleton idiots are a pain and the breeze can counter me which "balances" the fight.
well i just trap the spawners after i have opened every vault for the xp it's not like it's bad to make farms cause yeah i could do it the normal way but why don't i trap it instead? not like enderman farms and the like are better
I am doing some things you said, for instance that zombie one and mountains one. Actually who used wind charges in trial chambers, at least i dont. Its better to keep them.

The only puzzle i will break is the one in the jungle temple. That is the same puzzle always so after doing it for like three times it gets kinda boring

I just break copper blocks in them when i need copper for cobblemon
For the zombie I have done that with a fucking enderman

I made a silverfish xp farm once that went horribly, horribly wrong. The zombie pillar was my only option
the reason they even do it is because they LOSE fun, it's the entire point of being able to do it, it's called free will

I only build up when climbing if there is no way to climb higher, but I break a block or 2 and replace them to go up
