I think it depends. If you marry Alex, who wants to make it big in Gridball, then yeah, you're cancelling his dream. But Shane doesn't have a big dream like that, so that isn't ruining much of anything. Just makes it "harder" to visit his goddaughter (even though we're literally neighbors).
