Terraria has some explaining to do…

In the game Terraria, you start off with a set of copper tools. It’s a little interesting that you wouldn’t get tin tools in a world with tin, otherwise you just have copper when there is none in the world. And why is wood stronger than copper? Like surely a pure solid copper sword would be sharper and more durable that a carved hunk of wood… Yes I know the wood one isn’t a shortsword, I’m just messing around with the idea. It’s a joke, chill out. Geez, get off my back. Also I’m bald.

  1. Well, the copper one is a short sword, while the wooden sword is a broadsword, thus more damage. They probably also don't want people to have better tools if they create a world with tin, then a world with copper, because then people would just only play worlds with tin. Also, if you make a copper broadsword, then it IS better than a wooden sword. Well, either way, its better to just skip to lead/iron.

  2. It's absolutely worth it to make a tin pickaxe and axe not only are they better, but copper tools have -1 range while tin do not. So you haven't gotten anything better ores yet, but tons of tin definitely upgrade your copper to tin. You have no idea how much that -1 range makes a difference.

  3. character creation doesnt rely on worlds. so i propose a different complaint, why not complain that the % rate they have tin stuff is the rate the world has tin ore

  4. When you create a character, it instantly makes your inventory. It can’t be affected by anything outside of your own actions after you create it

  5. 2 extra damage on a tool you’ll replace after five minutes of a playthrough; yeah, that’ll be useful after defeating eye of cthulu. Hell, even moonlord.

Jokes aside, this would be a useless feature, copper is like the common of all common ores, (in my opinion, of course) so making them switch is kinda.. you know… pointless. And it’ll also just take an ungodly amount of code to actually make—if you factor in that the player and world are both separate things, unlike Minecraft, which only lets you play the character in the world, instead of any characters you choose or have created.

Yes, I have yapped too much over a 2 damage difference, have a nice day lol

  6. Character creation and world creation are completely separate, and you make the character first so there’s no way to know what the world will get when you make a new character. It would make more sense to just get a random variant, copper or tin, on character creation regardless of what the world has

  7. ….cam you craft wood armor
Also there's a glitch where that flipin copper short sword can turn into the best sword forgot the name while your not beaten a boss
