For a while I’ve been wanting to try out a MC modpack, ever since I was a youngling watching MC ytbers play different mod packs (chimney sweep, I ballistic squid, etc). Now with uni out of the way for a while, I was hoping to get some suggestions for curseforge.

After searching throughout this subreddit and others, there seems to be a heavy emphasis on suggesting modpacks involving urbanisation, industrialisation, steampunking, etc anything involving automation or red stone. I personally don’t find much enjoyment in this however as I find it tedious and chorelike (I already get my dosage from work and uni).

What I’m looking for is something more adventurous, something different but still aligned with the non-redstoney parts of minecraft. A main objective is nice but not necessary. A lively environment is also important, with a variety of mobs, biomes and structures. Gameplay mechanics not involving industrialism are completely welcome. Pretty much, vanilla minecraft but expanded upon tenfold. Bonus points if there’s aquatic elements involved.

For context, I’ve played The Aether and that was perfect for me, as there was none of the automation or scrolling through websites for countless hours trying to get something to work. RLcraft was also quite intriguing but I never did play it, and I loved watching crazycraft back in the day.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If a singular mod also fulfills the criteria desired then that’s also fine, such as the aether mod.
