How to make 100,000g in Stardew Valley with Foraging Only | SPEED RUN

In this video I attempt to make 100,000g in Stardew as quickly as possible – but I will only use the foraging skill to make money

How fast can I do it?

  1. Loved it! I think I would have a few improvements but depends on if you allow donations to the community centre.
The spring forage bundle gives you spring seeds so you could get a nice early boost there.
Trying to get to level 5 before salmon berry season would allow more berries to be collected which is a nice win.
Collecting mahogany seeds as much as possible to plant for the first of summer to benefit from the green rain event instant growing.
The mushroom cave might be more reliable as it does spawn every two days even if they’re always normal quality.

  2. Yeah, foraging seems like it wold be a rough one to hit the goal on. I dunno if you were replanting all your trees at the beach or railroad to chop down, but if not that might have helped. There was no way that this challenge wouldn't be mind numbing, in my opinion.

  3. Love this! I know it's not quite in the spirit of the challenge, but don't truffles count as foraged items? I know the botanist perk applies to them. It could be fun to add the challenge of building barns! I feel like by the time you have a fully upgraded barn, you still would have needed to grind quite a bit.

  4. I'm surprised that this challenge didn't feel fun for you at all. I loved it! If it felt slow for you, of course I have to try and see if I might do it faster.

One thing you didn't mention was turning your wild forage into seed packets before selling them. You get much more money that way. Did you forget to do it, or just forget to mention it?

I agree forage doesn't scale the way other skills do. Getting an axe upgrade does help, but not as much as bait and tackle and an upgraded rod and a smoker do. Not as much as reaching the bottom of the mines and entering Skull Cavern does. Obviously not the way that farming with sprinklers and high value crops does. But you also never got to use mushroom logs, which are really the MVP of the forage skill! But it kicks in a bit later in the game than the other upgrades do, so you didn't really have time to see that benefit. If your money goal had been higher, perhaps you would have seen reason to admire forage more. Once you can dehydrate or pickle mushrooms there is really no limit to how much money you can make!

  5. I would still grow crops and fish for energy needed if you do another video on making gold just on foraging. Same with making gold just with mining or fishing, I'd still do the other skills too. Just don't sell anything that doesn't relate to that particular skill. Also, I'd consider counting the quests by Pierre's shop something you can do for extra gold. Since you can't sell fish, gems, crops, etc, then giving them to NPC's for extra gold would be fine.
