A witch cursed me even though I have the statues?

I have an autograbber in the coop where it happened so that egg was the only one out, and I’m just confused this has never happened before when my statues have been in the exact same place? I think it was a glitch but I’m just confused are my statues in the right area lol😭

    I think the statues only work to prevent the witch from making the slimes black and for that it needs to be inside the slime hutch.

    I think for the coop, she just leaves you a void egg.

    The statues prevent her from turning all your slimes black in the slime hutch, it won’t do anything outside or stop her from giving void eggs

    I don’t know if the statues work on coops or not. For the slime hutch, they need to be placed inside the building where you want to protect your slimes from being turned black

    I’m curious about why you’re trying to prevent the witch in the coop though? She just gives you a free void egg. If you don’t want it, give it to krobus or turn it into mayonnaise and sell it

    I don’t see why the witch coming by is even a problem, really. All she does is give you a free Void egg. The slime hutch is a different story, but I never even build those.

    Edit: I saw someone already commented this exact thing. But yeah, she doesn’t actually do anything to your chickens or their eggs. The Void egg she leaves is in addition to the eggs you normally get. I used to think she turned one of my chickens eggs to a Void one til I counted them one time and realized she basically gifts you.
