What do you think what kind of religion do villagers practice?
The existence of temples and the cleric profession in villages suggestes that the villagers practice some kind of religion. What is your head canon about this religion (or multiple religions?)?
It’s supposed to be too vague to tell, that way it works however you want to make it. But let’s face it, clerics are definitely some kind of village guru/witch doctor/medicine man no matter how vague it is, so to they certainly don’t belong to any major religion. So maybe more like the beginnings of a religion instead. Whatever keeps the zombies away I guess. Heaven knows what they do with all that rotten flesh I sell them, lol

Maybe something golem related?

I imagine they would worship some form of the light/sun/day/fire as monsters literally spawn anywhere there is darkness.

It’s the Church of Hrmmm. They toil all day praising their god Hrmmm and even talk about them as they congregate midday. When they make money, they even exclaim their god’s name. As they take damage and die, they curse you in the name of Hrmmm. There is no part of their day, or lives, that Hrmmm is not a part of. Praise be to Hrmmm!

It looks to me that Plains, Tundra and Taiga COULD be the same religion, though I’m not sure about Taiga. The people of the Desert and Savanna look like they worship something else though.

Like I said in the other post, the potions the clerics make probably represent the power of the gods

It’s a cargo cult, players turn up and build/trade more than any villager had before. They pray so I may bestow more stuff and go easy on the divine wrathÂ

I’ve never seen the 2nd and beyond. Or at least, I’ve never recognized 1. I don’t know if I’ve come across the 2nd plains temple.

I think they worship creepers as they carved their faces on sandstone and cleric villagers have it on their back too.

I don’t know but honestly, with these people, there’s no middle ground. Everything is block and white.

I think they might worship the Aether or see the players as walking demigods.

I believe that most of them believe in some kind of religion close to the early form of Christianity and some believe in some kind of folk belief or paganism.
