so ive been in pre hard mode for AGES after getting into hard mode and the crimson taking over everything, so i made a new world, and started getting rid of ALL OF THE CORRUPTION,
so im wondering if the corruption would come back after i completely purify my world or would it just stay corruptionless (until the hallow spawns in idfk where it comes from ok)
please i don't want to waste time i could have spent having fun on hard mode (and dying ofc)

Whenever hardmode starts a v shaped portion of ypur world will be made hallowed and corruption/crimson, one half of the v being hallowed and the other part being your world evil. So unless you want the good riddance achievement pre hardmode, purification is nearly pointless
Once you get to hard mode (after beating wall of flesh) the “hard mode V” spawns from where the wall dies and one half of the V will be crimson/corrruption in your case corruption and the other half will be the hollow
