Probably convoluted, but made my own automated chicken seed farm since I couldn't find any noob friendly guides on it.
Uses a Bone Chicken into a Crusher from Actually Additions, into a Simple Clicker from Just Dire things, seeds are picked up with a Ranged Collector (AA) and feeds back into the chicken to self sustain it. Pipes are from Oritech.
Good setup or overcomplicated? Been like half a decade since I played modded properly.

Strongly recommend a garden cloche. You can get a pitcher plant from a trader for unlimited water, just use oritech pipes to get it in. You get power from your general power system, but the seed feed into a lava chicken, which then feeds lava eggs into the generator of your choice. Easy and self sustaining, and the worst case event (total power loss breaking the loop) your original single seed doesn’t get lost or destroyed. Scales up well, I have 2 relatively low level chickens power 6 generators, and still loads of chicken see for other chickens.
