Speedrunners Just BROKE Minecraft

Speedrunners are literally skipping fighting the Ender Dragon, and still beating the game…somehow. Researching this and going down a technical Minecraft rabbit hole was so interesting, I had to make a video about it. New main channel video soon as well!!

I’ve simplified some of the concepts in this video a lot! (Especially at the start, where I talk about “tp’ing back to the overworld”.) For a detailed and thorough explanation, please watch Myren’s videos!

  1. Update:The Current WR now uses 2 different new techniques for going even faster:The get an iron sword from a chest to kill a witch for the redstone, duplicate the placed redstone in the end.

The other part is how they make lag.Right before entering the portal the second time, they get to their video settings and set their render distance to 32 chunks. Then they set their max frame rate to 10 frames.

  2. If you log out, that's the run. Standards for speedrunners have sunk pretty low if you're allowed multiple sessions. It's pretty cool, what you can do with the code, but this isn't "beating the game".

  3. A lot of weird glitches happen relating to this exact same thing – block updates. On couriways 100,000 speed runs challenge, for example; one time his game crashed on entering the end portal – and so one update in the game files said he was in the end, but another only had his overworld coordinates, 2000,4000 or something. This caused him to go into the end, but at those coordinates instead, actually causing him to be placed close to one of the outer rings, where end cities spawn. He was however, spawned straight in the void and fell to his death ingame.

  4. Does this mean Minecraft could have a "new game plus" category where something they did in another run is allowed to persist into another for like a 10 second run?

  5. Hmmmm, he entered the end without the portal being active?
So you need to enter the end first, die then enter it again for the glitch to work… well if that’s how it is then this video has got to be fake unless the end portal spawned with all the eyes in, or he placed them all in first and then went back to spawn and played through? I don’t get it.

How did he enter it the first time?
Oh! Come on, the eyes were already placed, then what’s with the timer?
If he just wanted to show us how it worked then there’d be no need for a timer.
Even on a set seed you can’t interact with the world before you start the timer.
