We are new to Minecraft! I was showing my son you ran reach the end of the world at around -70, and we came across this at -23.
There are treasure and booby traps everywhere. It’s super cool but, are they common?

I’m not super familiar with these but they’re called trial chambers and relatively new, I believe it was the caves and cliffs update that added them. That’s about all I could tell you though
This is a trial chamber. They have spawners that will spawn different types of monsters, but make sure to not run around too much or you’ll trigger a bunch at the same time then they’re not so fun. If you drink an ominous potion it’ll get harder, but you can get a key that can give you a heavy core which is needed for the mace
