I remember that time when I litterally spent TWO HOURS searching for Mythril in early hardmode because I didn't have any spelunker potion, I even had the metal detector but I just had no luck finding them. Pretty sure the spelunker potions would have helped me.
Spelunkers are amazing for life fruit bro. Countless hours have been saved using them for that. AND im sure theyre going to be even more useful for that once 1.4.5 comes out with the new jungle juice healing item that uses life fruit in its recipe
Ngl, spelunker potions are SO GREAT, that I literally go out of my way to get herbs for them, as early as possible on a new world. With minimal luck, using that potion, I can gear up for a first boss in less than an hour, on master mode. It's just that great.
Spelunkers, mining, and shine potions are always in my inventory. I like to keep a stack of at least 10 of each at all times because it allows me to live my dream of living in an anthill 😂
I never bother using spelunker potions because I actually like the process of exploring underground and caving, so why would I make it shorter? My pick for favorite potion is endurance potion because of how much it helps against bosses, especially in the late game
Gravitation Potions. As soon as you get a pair of running boots, pop one of these to find the sky islands (it's not uncommon to find a couple in chests in the underground). Just take a running start and keep reversing your gravity over and over again to "fly" through the air. You're looking for a sky pond (for fishing quests if you're doing those which you should), and it's nice to find a Starfury early game too, or at the very least, you need one for crafting the Zenith later IIRC. There's some other accessories to be had too, but those are the two big things you're looking for. Once I find a sky pond I always drop a rope down to the surface so I can return there anytime easily anytime I get a quest that wants a fish from the sky.
A lot of people overlook the movement potions for some reason even though they're insane. Swiftness feels like half a hermes boots, gravitation gives free sky island loot (and is great for some bosses), and featherfall is a top 3 potion once you master it.

Spelunker potions are also great when you're starting to mine Chlorophyte.
Spelunker potions are very good for finding chlorophyte, platinum/gold, early hardmode ores and even crimtane so it useful at most stages of the game❤

I think my favorite is the featherfall potion. It's surprisingly good almost every time, despite its cost & duration.
I really like Healing Potion
Splunker is the absolute Goat
teleportation potions: they are PERFECT for 100% map completion
I think stink potion is the best
There is one true best potion, and it's Featherfalling. It boosts your mobility so incredibly much.
