Optionally, also download Stardrop, and launch the game through it, instead. Its a mod loader for the game that's very easy to use, especially when it comes to profiles! You can make profiles for multiple saves where you use a combination of different mods you have for each, and even profiles for playing with friends (assuming you've got those, anyways. Can't relate, if so)
one very useful mod i reccomend is "ponny weight program" it allows the horse to pass trought 1×1 gaps that in vanilla normally cant pass, its a live saving mod!!
On PC, Nexus also offers a mod loader program. You can send mods with a single click to be downloaded by it, then installed with another click without needing to mess with folders. Even better, mods may have conflicts with other mods, so the mod loader will notify you of the conflict and ask you which to prioritize.
Much easier to fix mod issues when you know what to look for. Plus, if you don't want a specific mod after trying it, it's only one more click to remove it from your game instead of needing to search out what files belong to it and tediously removing them all.
