Took 2 hours of my life.

On my first ever solo run of Minecraft, as usually someone who plays with friends, I finally find the stronghold. The first photo is where I landed so naturally I explored the entire stronghold to find out that it’s taking an unusual amount of time to find the portal.

I finally duplicate the world and go into spectator mode to find it to come to realize that it was in the room over from where I landed.

In the second photo is where I found the door to the room, blocked off by blocks and after breaking it leads me to the door. This genuinely took 2 hours of my time and was wondering if this is common at all. The seed is in the last photo and is in Java MC.
