  1. Melee is the best class objectively, but I absolutely hate playing it. Just feels rather bland to me, same with rangers but ranger does have some really fun weapons (I like the mini guns and shotguns and I think Im the only Toxicarp fan). I really like summoner because of its glass cannon play-style and I just like having little goons following me around. Mage has awful progression though, it DID NOT need another pre mech bosses weapon.

  2. I played mage before in pre hardmode it's kinda trash but in early hardmode it gets a huge upgrade but it's in the same category as summoner (when it comes to defense)

  3. First playthrough being melee was good,

    2nd was mage and the
pre skeleton is bad but not that bad,
    pre wall was good,
Pre mechs was good but kinda stuck,
Pre plantera was better than pre mech kinda like pre wall,
Pre lunar cultist is great and when I am rn,

    My tier list:
    1,Pre Cultist
    2,post golem
    3,pre wall
    4,pre mechs
    5,pre plantera
    6,pre Skeletron
    7,pre evil boss

  4. 1.melee best defence good damage simple as that
2.summoner lacking defense but insane damage and consistent damage
3.ranger easy to use kinda like the base plate for classes in general
4.mage good damage bad defense and the mana system nerfs the hell outta this class

  5. i don't like to play one class, i just use whatever weapons i want. that being said, magic is my least favorite because the weapons don't feel good to use without fully investing in it

  6. Lowkey mage has just super cool weapons and the spectre armor with the helmets is just super creative (takes skill to switch without auto pause or multiplayer) but it is tre that it is difficult (i believe the most difficult cuz armor almost as low as summoner but you still have to check mana while not getting hearts for heals)

  7. Yea, mage felt like left in the mud a bit for early game especially, but with proper setup, mage can be busted. If they change mana sickness into giving random buffs or debuffs instead, mage would be a whole lot of fun to play

  8. No one plays the game like they only use 1 class i mean at the start of the game im all ways ranger or melee and then switch

  9. Melee is the best overall with the only real issue at some point being range. Summoner is pretty fun and consistent in dps with the issue being that it's very dodge reliant. Mages are rather… Mixed? The armor is just slightly better than summoner but not enough to be significant, and your strength depends on where you are in game considering early game could genuinely feel horrible sometimes and overall could potentially be called worse than summoner. Ranger is very versatile when it comes to sub classes considering it's probably the only class with actually notably useful sub classes with the progression being fine and somewhat mostly consistent with it having a decent amount of armor overall while having a overall easier way to fight. Lastly for the mix-classes there's mainly two prominent types of mixed class. Having the mixed-armor/accessories class that uses different armor types to gain more of a benefit rather than changing its entire purpose. As for true mixed classes such as armors that gives you benefits for two or more different classes armors like forbidden fragments armor and frost flame armor for example are more flexible than the regular class because they can accel in more than just one class, this can make your game more or less fun but probably more confusing.

  10. Magic was my first class and I loved it
Once you break a crimson or demon orb the spell is really good and it allows you to kill eye of chuthulu then the brain and eater of worlds

  11. Ranger also has the best accessory spread, allowing them to go pure dps easier to get among the highest damage, as well as freedom to go mobility without much sacrifice. Beyond that, it has the best and most consistent number of homing weapons. The snowman cannon against moonlord is one of the best weapons in the game and you can get it directly after plantera. Ranger is 100% A tier

  12. melee is cool but boring, imo. because everything that is “melee” in terraria shoots a projectile of some sort ☠️ and then the ones that dont have a ranged projectile are absolutely buns.

  13. Mage is kinda weird. The best way to start, in my opinion, is to not fight anything while you get the materials to do so. I usually get a fairly high tier gemrobe (Ruby or Emerald) and a Sapphire staff, grow some Diamond gem trees to get a Diamond Gem Robe and Staff (Platinum worlds only, unless you're ballsy enough to go hunting for the shimmer.) and then go to the underground corruption for Vilethorn and underground desert for Thunderzapper. Usually gives fairly good damage output. Probably not the best strategy, but yeah.

I also will say, there aren't many magic weapons compared to other classes, so it does feel pretty limited at times.
