i'm trying to create a wheat auto farm that also has villagers replanting for me, can someone help me figure out why the villager is not breaking/replanting the wheat?
the door in the corner there is so that a bell can move him out of the way before the water comes in, could that be a problem?

Have you filled his invent with seeds??
1) Mobgriefing is off
2) The farmer’s inventory is not full of seeds
3) If the job site breaks (composter) even briefly, he may stop working until he reclaims it.
4) Wheat needs **l**ight level 9+ to grow, and villagers won’t bother if crops don’t grow.
Fill him with your seed
I think they need seeds to start farming. But in my opinion a wheat farm is not efficient at all. Not this way anyway. When they harvest the wheat the automatically turn some of it into bread, but the process is extremely slow.
If you’re after a food source I would highly recommend you build a gold farm (super easy piglin xp farm is amazing for gold) and use the farmer to farm carrots. Then you’ve got an endless supply of the best food source in the game.
But if you’re after the wheat itself for things like mud bricks etc, I’d suggest hand farming it or building a water contraption and then placing seeds manually
I think the job block has to have a transparent block on top to keep path finding from getting messed up. Could be the problem.
You need to stop him from accessing the composter by placing trapdoors around it at head height. You may have filled the villagers inventory but when they go to the composter they just compost all the seeds. You may need to replace the villager all together because it now has wheat in its inventory.
My question: everyone is saying the inventory needs to be full. Is that true? Would he weird if he can only harvest when his inventory is full
