The dungeon can be accessed immediately upon starting the game however most loot is locked behind golden chests which require golden keys you obtain later in the game
However this is the only place to get an alchemy table early on before most tougher enemies begin to spawn post eye of cuthulu and there's no other way to craft potions without one so it's best to go grab one early game
