This is the hub outside of my nether portal on our realm! How do I decorate the street without it being too hard to access everything but still making it feel more ‘alive?’

I decided to make a mall right at my nether portal (the building on the left) so people see it before ever even entering my base. Connected to this are all the ice roads going to other peoples bases. Everything is built on slabs to be 100% spawn proof so I can't use full blocks for the flooring. I'd love to have a little bit more of a defined path, though I think? But on the same hand I don't want the walking area to be cluttered either. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you~
