For what you can make in the roblox game engine it can be good but never $30 good plus on top of that this may cause other devs to see this and start doing the same thing im worried roblox might straight up become a platform filled with over priced games which im fine if there robux and not too expensive but for an only online game platform where you dont even install the game you buy roblox might become a terrible platform in the future for free games.

and yes, i think it will set a terrible precedent for games on here. roblox’s biggest wow factor has always been that it’s free, not that it has good games. if somebody was willing to spend 30 dollars on each game they played they would go to steam, which has much higher quality and less microtransactions. if roblox and steam each cost 10-30 dollars a game there is literally no point in staying on roblox.
there are very few games that i think are even worth money at all, maybe pressure, doors, the mimic, those are the only ones I can think of.
then again, i doubt many people are going to hop on the bandwagon of pricing games after they see that they get zero players (no one on roblox wants to spend money)
I could buy silksong for almost half of that and still have a dlc to eat up

This is probably the first time in my over 12 years on the platform I’ve seen something like this. it’ll probably die in a month or two after its release (if not released already) and all those people who bought it would have wasted their (or more likely their parents) money.
Was there even any hype for this game at all? Do we know what anything looks like on the inside? It seems to have just kinda popped into existence, claiming to be an egg hunt for either nostalgia bait or to make a quick buck.

From what I was told, you only buy access **to receive the hats**. Players will be able to access and play the game for free on release, they just won’t get the hats.
The reason is that they have to pay from their own pockets to upload the hats, and the price for that would be millions upon millions of dollars without Roblox’s backing. If they could, **they would** make it entirely free.
It’s very easy for people to criticize and lose their mind when they don’t know the context behind this, but unless the plans have changed since they informed us of their project at RDC, they’re doing the best they can with what they have.

I mean they can do whatever they want. It’s not like you couldn’t charge 100 dollars worth of robux before. They just kind of jumped the gun and made it 30 rather than the usual 1 or 2 or 5 at most. An egg hunt is not something people will pay 30 dollars for
