This is my current build I’m more than 120 stacks into placing blocks and I feel like it has become very monotonous and repetitive and becoming boring. How do you keep urself interested in the building?? At the moment I just have music playing what else can I do.

I listen to music or audiobooks. Somehow, my brain can handle monotone work then. that normally can’t handle it.

  2. When I play, I just play a ton for a few days and get it done, I don’t really do super big stuff that are months long but rather many days. One way I play for hours continuously is split-screening and watching a show or movie on the side while doing something repetitive

I often do many builds at a time usually 1 large one and many other ones that are big but not as big. basicly for example like I get tired of one build like a deepslate wall around my city I may go of to make my infinite lava farm and when I get tired of that or finish it il go back or go to another different one. I at one point hade like 5 different build and one massive wall now done 5 and almost done the wall. You just got to alternate dot do the exact samting for a long time

  4. I usualy switch between projects i have in my world if i feel burned out or not motivated. There is always smth to do

  5. I usually have 10-12 projects in queue at any given time…of various sizes and complexities. Learn to hop between when you need a break. I also take 1-2 days of playing every week.

I got burnt out on my latest mega build, 500K block geodisc dome over my perimeter. So now, I’m casually designing some small buildings in creative that I will eventually use at some point.

  6. Sharing helps me a lot. Invite others to play in your world or do what you just did and share your progress with the community.

  7. Take breaks from it. Set a small goal. (Get this section done) Do something else. Come back later. That’s how I usually do it.

  8. Just go play the game for awhile and get back to the build when you feel like it. Sometimes you’ll get new ideas and those will motivate you to continue it. I have a large statue that’s been 80% done for like 3 weeks at this point lol. Don’t push yourself to get it done all at once if you don’t feel like it. It’s just a game, not a job. The build will be there when you get back.

It’s a grind, best to be done little by little And you’ll see progress, but think of it in the long term.

  10. For me it’s dividing the projects work into two distinct parts:

    – When I have a bunch of motivation and energy, I do the planning, layout schematics etc
    – When I don’t have a ton of energy, I do the grunt work of placing/breaking blocks. Minecraft is a game to relax for me, and that often means listening to some music or watching a video while mindlessly doing a repetitive task

I do think it helps that I generally don’t mind the boring tasks. Those allow me to both play Minecraft and consume other media I like while I’m at it.

But you also have to know yourself and know when enough is enough. Sometimes I just don’t feel like working on a projects, so I just put in on hold. No harm in that 🙂

In terms of what I do while working on projects, I’ll listen to music and watch YouTube videos and streams, but the highlight is that I’m building on a multiplayer server, so sometimes I’ll talk or listen to convos on Discord while building, maybe I’ll check out what everyone else is doing now and then. But generally, my motivation comes from just making progress. Seeing something get done. Beyond that, I’m not really sure how I stay interested in a particular project, sometimes I’ll lapse and randomly get an idea for something else, like a new road someone needs me to do, or realising my base actually sucks and I should refurbish it (what I’ve been doing the past 3 days)

  12. I play single player. And I do not do large builds, no point in doing them.

Instead I explore new terrain, build outposts or create Nether portals to link them on Nether roof.

  13. Playing in hardcore so that every block broken or placed might be the last. Builds feel much better when there is a chance you won’t see it again as a living base, but as a graveyard you’re exploring as a ghost.
