it was relatively large and robust metricanthosaurid, and the biggest thing that meant to see the player as viable prey ingame (originally supposed to be carnotaurus, but I decide to scrap the carno in favor of giving much less known theropod some screen time)
since it meant to go after the player, the player also in turn should be able to beat it in pvp at some level, and I thought of making it a lategame threat, needing full set of diamond (ideally netherite) to dispach or very atleast ward off
BUT if given other prey option (eg. cow, horse, pig, other reasonable sized dinosaur etc) it will almost always go after those leaving the player alone, also it wont purposefully go after the player if it not labled as hungry, but will attack if you get too close (which every dinosaur in this mod does, when another mob enters their personal space some of them might attack, or some might run away, some might do mix of both)
planned stats-
health = ~150
note: at 60% hp siamo will attempt to run away, also will keep distance if it cannot pathfind to player's exact location (it includes if player pillars up which is not unique to siamo but most of dinosaurs in this mod meant to have this feature)
but it will continue to fight back if health drops bellow 20% but in some rare case an individual might fight fiercely till death skipping the running away phase entirely this mechanic to insure player has ability to defeat or least survive an encounter without making the mob too weak for its size, insuring it stays a relevant threat even till the lategame-endgame
damage = ~13
speed = 10m/s (slows down a lot when turning tho, so even with an average horse you can out menuever it with little zigzag pattern, but if you get some above average faster horses you can just proceed to run in straight line)
stamina = 500 blocks (it roughly how long player can go sprint jumping but a siamo will never use up its entire stamina pool when catching you, it will be gradient more like 300 block stamina budget for siamo that is not those rare extremely motivated individual)
overall siamo meant to act as somewhat rare but extremely dangerous threat to the player at all stages of gameplay, from fresh start to endgame, and they often will spawn in pair, those are best to be avoided specially they dont give much of any reward upon defeat only reward is you are alive, afcourse that not everything with a bit of brain you will try to wear them down using ranged attack like bow and arrow maybe traps too but they will try to get away from the spot when they hit with projectile but dont have any target
I yet have to find a way to make it find coverred area when hit with projectile but I havent found a way to make it efficiently work yet, if I manage to make it then you will be able to setup traps beforehand and use projectiles to make it go in it but right now we just got bunch of siamo that will run frantically if hit with arrow with no valid explaination (ik mobs know who shot arrow at em even if they canot see them but I decide to change it so it doesnt react to who shot arrow at it unless that mob is within its observing range)

and I know there is rex, and siamo is smaller than rex but in rex’s case they only turn you into # if you invade their personal space (getting too close) and it not really a case of predation
