Actually just ran into this in my calamity run. Ended up using I think Iron Ore as a sort of connector block for them, thought it looked pretty alright.

I just realized that there’s no reason for the same thing to also apply to lanterns or any other decoration that hangs down from a single block. Being able to hang things from ropes would be neat too.
