I’m still traumatized by the Frost Hydra. In the old mobile version, it used to deal about 350 contact damage in pvp. It wouldn’t intentionally target players but the ability to instantly place a wall down was scary.

S Tier – Scourge of the Corruptor (Good Damage, Homing, what more needs to be said?) Desert Tiger Staff (In my opinion, the only competition this has are the Xeno Staff which never misses and the Stardust Dragon which needs no explanation.) A Tier – (Rip A Tier I guess) B Tier – Piranha Gun (Subjected to r-ranking as I have yet to actually test it out after it's buff. Sounds good though.) C Tier – Frost Hydra Staff (If it's against targets that stay on flat ground like Goblin or Pirate Invasions, it gets the job done. But anything flying around the screen and it's GG. Still what else are you going to be using, an OOA Sentry?) D Tier – Rainbow Gun (I want to like you, I really do. Maybe buff it so that Nimbus Rod-like Rain falls from the Rainbow?) Back in the 1.2 Days Tier – Vampire Knives (Oh, how the mighty have fallen.)
I think that Vampire Knives are still more than Viable. I never used them as a primary weapon, but rather a support one, that heals me, when I need it the most. Some people may call it overrated, but I still like playing with it on my Melee Playthroughts, when I have Crimson in my world.
The frost hydra is actually the best support sentry in the game, people are just haters. It does 50 less base damage than the Ballista but it fires 2.5x as fast and inflicts a decent debuff in frostbite.
If you are min maxing sentries then yeah use the Ballista. But if you just want a sentry to help out then you should 100% use the frost hydra. Also it's post plantera, vs post golem for the Ballista.
Scourge of the corruptor in s tier when literally every melee user on the planet is gonna be using terra blade at that stage is wild lmao, move it down to a tier and desert tiger staff to s.
Recently did a ranger playthrough. The piranha gun is absolutely insane for Golem, since you have almost perfect control over the damage done to each segment. And as long as he doesn’t get too far offscreen, Fishron really doesn’t like them clinging on during his teleports.
