Def right choice mushrooms where nerfed a while back so the profits are more or less the same. Bigger thing is that now you don't have to plant fruit trees for the bundles cuz they take FOREVER to start producing. That and mushroom logs exist now which produce pretty often so there's not much need for mushroom cave.
The fruit is great for the community center plus the mushrooms will be plentiful in the mines. You could also make a mushroom log to start getting some mushrooms
I love fruit cave because first, it's helpful in completing the bundle to get the greenhouse pretty quickly. Also because if you level up to 10 in foraging and pick the right profession for this matter (I think it's the botanist profession), you can pick up iridium quality fruit, which is pretty cool!
Edit: First, it's the gatherer profession at level 5, then botanist at 10.
