If you have enough diamonds, you can keep that sword, and when you have a good sharpness/smite sword you can use an anvil to apply the looting without the bane.

This is why we need an enchanting update IMO. You grind 30 lvls (which can take awhile without a XP farm) only to get stuff like this. Heck even with a XP farm it can take like 30mins + multiple swords to get everything you want on it.
IMO enchanting at lvl 30 should give 3 enchants at minimum.

Toss it in a chest near your spider spawner farm
