I feel like you could fuse both attacks shown here into one. The first beam is too easy to dodge, but if you had to run from it while also looking out for beams from above, it would be far more engaging, IMO.

From the perspective of gameplay design I think it looks amazing
The fact that the laser beams are foreshadowed like that is a really nice thing, makes the boss challenging but not impossible or annoying (looking at you rn, chaos guardian)

Maybe an animation for the down shots? Like have the enemy shoot up first?

Looks good, I would suggest you dont make the laser (from the first attack) fully stationary after it starts shooting, make it still move where the player is but slower
