i have a memory of playing the game and doing something to interact with clint's furnace thing outside — the door popped off and some coal and possibly ores came out. I can't find anything about it online, it's not on the wiki, and none of my friends who play the game have ever had it happen. i remember it so vividly, the door flew off the same way the trash lid does when you get the trash hat and it made me jump. i could see the fire inside, and i remember thinking it made so much sense that you could get coal from there and that it was a nifty random event. now, this was several years ago — it was probably 6-7 years back, so maybe it's been removed? i've never been able to replicate it despite interacting with the furnace with all my tools, hitting the ground nearby with a club, etc. i have no idea how it happened, but i'm certain it did. the door even looks like a separate entity, as if it's on a separate layer, ready to pop off. this was on pc on a completely unmodded save.
has this ever happened to anyone else? does anyone have any idea why/how it happens?? did i dream this? i feel like i'm going crazy!!

Yes you have
Maybe a mod? I know that in Stardew Valley Expanded Clint passes some time handling the furnace.
I feel like I’ve seen something to do with the furnace in relation to the event that happens the night you unlock the minecart system upgrade? Or it pans past the furnace? I thought that maybe the furnace somehow fueled the minecart system
Edit: reading your description, I’ve never seen that happen
Best guess is that you got coal from the trash can and your mind made the rest of it up from something you saw or an idea you had in your mind at the time. I don’t recall there ever being something like that at least in the base game.
I’ve always felt it should do something the way the door vibrates.
Probably you were opening the garbage can and got the trash hat, because it happens with a big bang!
Mandela effect is in full swing
Stardew valley expanded has a scene with Clint and the furnace. He’s working behind the shop and them moves next to it
Are you thinking about the restarting the minecarts or whatever they are called. It has a similar looking thing if I remember correctly.
i’ve never heard of this happening, ever, not even an inkling of familiarity, so i can only think it was a mod or a dream or something
Me too! I could’ve sworn there was something that happened?? Maybe a cut scene or something–I literally have a memory of something happening here
My horse was a llama on a coop playthrough once and I have absolutely no proof now
I do, too. It’s most likely a mod, but I don’t remember which one
pretty sure is from expanded! I’ve seen it too, and I play modded a lot
Had to double look, your character looks very similar to mine
You’re not crazy!! I’ve accidentally triggered this by hitting the button to check the trash can while I was in front of the furnace thingy. The animation is similar to the one for the trash can hat, the door flies off the screen dramatically and a few coals drop. It resets after you enter a building. I play switch btw so no mods
I swear to god I remember clicking the furnace and something popped out! Its not just you!
The only thing i can think of is the junimos repairing the minecarts, but clints not in that one, some joja construction workers are but none of them are Clint
As best as I can tell, you’re misremembering.
A- not in vanilla but there are mods involving the furnace
B- it’s the trashcan outside near to the furnace, it can have coal and also can drop the trash can hat with the violent explosion
C- Joja employees or the junimos repair the mine cart next to the furnace in an overnight cutscene.
D-cross memory of the above in combination – you remember all these things as a single event which doesn’t happen and has not happened in vanilla.
I think it was probably the cutscene where the junimos fixed the minecarts? Since it was right next to it?
Do you check the trash can there often? When you get the trash hat there it’s quite loud and when that happened to me I thought it was something to do with the furnace momentarily.
You’re not the only one. A few years ago, I remember an event with Clint at that furnace, talking about it and asking why he became a blacksmithÂ
