Now in my farm I'll stock pile the seeds and plant the trees along the edges of the farm where one can't really grow or do anything so I can set tappers. Then run around the farm to collect from said tappers.
I like using mahogany seeds to grow a lil Hardwood forest on my farm for when I run low also you could have a whole area with the different trees tapped and put mushroom logs in between them for different mushroom which you can sell or dehydrate then sell

We cant forget that Mahogany drops hardwood and not normal wood! I LOVE Mahogany trees for that reason

Once the seeds are available, you can also just nudge trees to get a chance for a seed. This is great and early game when you are low on energy.
