Inhuman creature from another world. They dont have a spine in game so they are not mutant humans. They aren't affected by Smite or Bane of Arthropods, so they aren't ghosts or bugs.
So I believe they are aliens.
The top of their head extends upwards when aggravated, using two relatively thin struts on the sides as part of their jaw. This reveals two large fangs on the bottom jaw.
Their eyes are wider than human eyes, being 1×3 rather than 1×2 on player skins.
The head is covered in dark patterns.
Their hands have large blade-like back fingers that can be used to attack when swinging forward as they do in game, and also easily scoop up dirt or other ground material. The front fingers are good for holding this scooped blocks.
The musculature on their body adds many layered round dark shapes that are based on the seemingly random lines found on their torso section in game. These lines could also be fabric folds from loosely draped or layered cloth.
Their arms and legs are the very same length, which I feel like even though players have similar proportions, the limb dimensions seem more dramatic and intentional in endermen.
I gave them long digitigrade feet as their in game legs are very long and thin, and would not likely have long flat humanoid feet.
I also have other theories about how their teleportation magic works. In short, The purple particles are interdimensional plankton like organisms, which are attracted to heat and stable environments, such as Nether portals and Endermen. Water hurts the particles because it is unstable and easily takes their heat, they emergency teleport away from the frame or endermen, which hurts them.
Both Endermen and Nether portals teleport things, are Black and Purple, and are hurt by water. The difference is endermen teleport themselves, so thats why they are hurt by the water while only the portal is broken while the portal frame remains. So Endermen are essentially walking nether portals, which is honestly just like realizing that cheese is dairy. So, not surprising.
