They’ll release a big update next year coinciding with minecraft movie 2. (End update probably). If they were announcing something huge on this minecraft live there’d be much more marketing. But that’s just my two cents.

They’re more likely going to retexture slimes to have consistent pixel, add a mob called “The Sulfur Slimer” that can only spawn in a retextured cave biome.
The people glazing retextures and fillers drops are making Mojang continue with those kind of stuff

They’ll add another glorp shitto into the game and call it “game changing feature”. Most of the player base also will say this is “game changing feature”, even if all it does is puking gooze once in a while that can be used as an early game food source (and it also inflicts poison)

many people here are unaware about a big update that’s in the works, made by mojang senior staff. and i think the disappointment is fair. past two drops have been very controversial and low quality. now all they have to do is show a glimpse of the major update that are working on and promised us when they announced drop system.

Y’all are crazy. The game is approaching 2 decades old. The fact it is still getting consistent content additions of any kind is insane. And besides, big updates only happened once a year at most. Now we get 4 smaller ones a year.

1.16 & 1.17/1.18 are why we are getting drops. It’s less stressful for the developers & they can work on any larger updates in the background (Such as moving Java to Vulkan) whilst doing smaller drops in the meanwhile.

Trying to make the Minecraft community is an impossible job.
No matter what Majong do you will have always have a segment of the community complain and say they hate it and those who hate are always the loudest.
Unfortunately the hate has gotten significantly worse over the last few years because the level of entitlement is off the scale.
Here is a game that you can buy for £20 and that is it. You get free updates for life, no DLC, no Gamepass, No loot boxes etc..
No other game has ever offered what Minecraft has yet so many people act like they have invest thousands and the game is made specifically for them.
What is ever worse is most of the hate comes from “adults”.
I put “adults” in quotations because kids act with more dignity and decorum then most adults on this sub. It really is pathetic how so many people behave in this sub

minecraft is the only game where the community is gonna let the billion dollar corporation get away with putting out consistently nothingburger “updates” that add literally nothing to the game, “caves and cliffs was too stressfull for the devs, that’s why we’re getting game drops” give me a break, they simply DON’T WANT to add meaningful cool updates, they’re way too afraid to do anything to change the game from what made it successful, same reason jeb said that the creeper would never get added in today’s minecraft, imagine how many other things they don’t want to add to the game or change
