This wasnt a very discussed topic earlier but it is now cuz of all these frontpage brainrot games ripping off each other. Only a small percentage of Roblox players come up with their own ideas. 95% of the games on Roblox are some or the other stolen idea. Bedwars, blox fruits, survive the killer, piggy etc. these ideas are NOT original. These developers copied/stole/were inspired by existing concepts to make frontpage games, and the playerbase consisting of children will regularly play these. These brainrot games are an extreme example of that, theyre copying each other entirely seeing SAB get so famous and theyre easily getting thousands of concurrent players. Its been years since ive seen a Roblox game and thought “damn Ive never played something like this before”.

To be fair, Roblox was always a bit of a trash heap for uninspired slop. remember simulators?
I believed there are still some creative game on Roblox, but they don’t have as many as brainrot games. Kids aren’t interested in games with complex mechanics, they can’t understand it yet. Brainrot games are simple in mechanics, have brainrots (kids love brainrots), addicting. It’s just something we have to accept, that the platform main playerbase is young children, and games that catch on trends will be popular.
