I think you can kinda push them by running into them for a few seconds, but I’m not sure if it’ll work if they’re “cornered”.
If you know anything about owning a cat, it’s that they’ll always find a way to be the most annoying they possibly can. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to move buildings in Stardew, only to be prevented because my dumb cat is sleeping there.
Once … It was 1:30 .. I was in a total hurry to go into the house … The Cat didn’t move and I fell asleep outside..

I had several cats IRL and the cats in the game are really like IRL..
My CC save has a cat… He IS ALWAYS in the way. I even missed the 2am time limit because he was on the bed…
My Joja save has a dog… So far no issues. 🤣
much like real life, you can nudge a cat with your feet and it will eventually move
My cat was once sleeping IN my bed with Harvey and I couldn’t get in! Ended up passing out on the floor.
place the chest right next to the cat, use it until the exact spot is free, you can move a chest that has items in it by hitting it with your pickaxe (best to do so from the opposite direction)
Please CA add carrying cats (and other pets) across the farm in 1.7!

i thought it would be fun to adopt a bunch of cats (6?) literally about an hour ago. its already the worst decision ive ever made its taking me so long to get around my farm and house😂
So put the chest down somewhere else and move it when the cat moves.
One time my dog was in a corner in my house for like 6 in game hours when I was trying to redecorate. It pissed me off so much >!I fairy dusted him. It was kinda sad when he poofed away. One last farewell bark!<
