That’s the neat part, No matter what MoJang does they can’t please this community

They need to hit a sweet spot. Integrating new stuff with old stuff doesn’t always require changing the old stuff itself. Like when making a new crafting recipe there doesn’t need to be multiple different glow items or scute items.
And when directly changing old stuff itself they could prioritize/focus on the heavily requested ones like enchanting or the promised biome votes.

The new update does feel like a mod or april fools snapshot but so did the happy ghast and the creeper would absolutely be despised today. Sometimes some wacky and out of place stuff is good for the game.
That being, I really miss the days of actually good and large updates

I don’t see how “adding more things” and “don’t change any old stuff” can coexist. That’s basically saying like “Minecraft adds too little!” and later say “Minecraft is adding and changing too much!”.

Add things and also don’t add things
Got it

It’s almost as if they can’t appeal to everyone and that running the largest game in the world means you’re going to attract a lot of good players and a lot of assholes, and they recognize this and ignore the assholes, which is why they continue to provide us with free updates multiple times a year despite how shitty some of the members of the community are
Yeah, some of the updates could see improvement and Mojang could do more for these releases but it’s insane how many people take for granted that we have a small studio existing inside an oppressive corporation and this studio managed to convince the giants at Microsoft that they should still be allowed to push regular content updates to Minecraft FOR FREE for the conceivable future.
At least we aren’t like all those sports games where they just release a new game each year with minor graphical changes. You could be spending $1,500 total for all the madden games.

I once watched a video about minecraft’s history and turns out, the community was always like this.
