So i was just watching a yt vid about how donut smp is using an exploit to see if you have the freecam mod or any hacked clients installed and the guy said someone made a mod to stop this and my god he says hes getting death threats!? what do you think

I mean, at the end of the day, it’s a tool to help people hide minecraft cheats that came out almost right after there was an effective way to sniff them out, so it’s not exactly surprising people are mad.
introducing an exploit that can catch people using cheat clients in their tracks improves user experience for people on servers, and creating a bypass for that degrades it.
every time user experience is made worse for a large number of people, there’s bound to be at least one unhinged person who issues death threats over it. griefing channels on youtube get them, I’m sure cheat client devs get a BUNCH of them, and tools that help hide cheats also fall under the crosshairs.
Not weird that he is receiving, knowing the kind of people that make servers.
Server owners have to be either regular people, or the most insane egocentric narcisistic lunatics ever (the second type seems to always make p2w servers I wonder why).
