It just seems like a given to me… in the morning, you go visit your farm animals and you pet them (?).
Do you do that? Every day?
Does it even do anything?
I just realized recently that I spend a whole lot of time doing that. Maybe that time could be better used at something else?

Do we need to? I am also unclear
Animals start loving you more and produce iridium quality products
Nope.
I only buy 5 cow for cheese and 1 of each animal, put auto grabber and then just come to get milk.
I only buy tons of animal after I get auto petter.
I do it everyday to just have a fun routine on the farm. But it does help boost the quality of products produced by the animals!
Not since I got everything for the community center.Â
Petting farm animals increases their friendship, as does letting them out to graze, especially with the blue grass found on the last farm option (you can get it on other farms later) there is also a placable item that can give them part of the petting bonus everyday but it’s kinda rare/hard to get until mid-late game. More friendship means better-higher quality produce. Some things that decrease friendship are not feeding them, leaving the door open at night (only a little, if you’re petting them and letting them out it makes little difference,) and not having a heater in the winter, you can buy those from Marnie when the time comes. Also animals don’t go out in winter and don’t like the door left open, so make sure to stock up on hay when winter rolls around!
>!Ooor you get an auto-petter!<

yes and no? if i need money yes but if i dont i dont. it produces better items but i did find an auto petter in the skull cavern so i only need to ever pet my chickens
