i started the game around a week ago and i think i’ve been doing okay so far but one thing i don’t understand is how to get purple star mayonnaise? very random but i have purple star eggs and use them to make the mayonnaise but it always ends up being gold star? is it better to just sell gold star eggs or what?

any large chicken eggs will turn into gold star mayonnaise! iirc it’s still more valuable to turn iridium eggs into gold mayo.
The mayo machine doesn’t retain the quality of the eggs. You get no quality mayo from regular eggs and gold star mayo from large eggs. It doesn’t matter what quality egg you use, only the size.
The sprinkle-layout is unoptimal. You can with quality sprinkles do sprinkles|crop|crop|sprinkles. And yes purple is better than gold.
Iirc, no processing process is affected by the quality of the ingredient, other than the the loom(higher quality wool has chances of producing extra cloth) and the fish smoker(smoked fish retain rarity).
The only way to get iridium (purple) mayo is with a late-game item (>!ostrich egg!<). Chicken eggs will only produce regular or gold quality mayo (depending on the size of the egg).
Yooo, you’re wasting sprinklers/space with that layout.

Yes, purple star is the best quality you can get, it’s called Iridium Quality.
The mayo quality is determined by the size of the egg. Regular eggs give regular mayo and large eggs give gold quality mayo.
There is a way to get silver or iridium quality mayo but don’t bother with it for now, it’s something you’ll only find in the late game.
