it seems people don’t understand that mojang has the resources to do both good updates and technical changes at the same time. they’re talking about minecraft like it’s a small, solo-dev project.

I heard somewhere, that mojang needs to get approval on every single update from microsoft and thats why april fools update get so much content because they are neither checked by microsoft or checked for bugs and stuff. But ya the recent update was quite dissapointing for me,I am not an builder I like exploring and all and was really expecting end update but meh its fine we get it sooner or later

My personal opinion about this whole matter is that I’m pretty tired of all these update discussion posts in my *funny meme board* and I’d really like to see everyone who’s been making these posts tossed out the door, thanks 🙂
They can do both simultaneously but they need to do a lot of backend stuff across multiple platforms. Remember they have Bedrock and Java with also Bedrock having – Mobile, Console, PC, Switch, Chrome book (I don’t know if Chromebook is still a thing)
They are way to many different versions that all need their own tests of all the new features plus making sure the background updates are working correctly. They can’t really push an update on PC that then causes issues on Console because they ignored it during development.
It’s why they take enough time to make update. 3months per Drop is good enough as we still play with the features, but only through Beta/Snapshots so we can test them as well.

Take a few CS courses, especially concerning project management, and then come back.

ppl seem to think hiring dozens of new devs will solve everything instead of complicating communications even more

If I see one more post about the update I’m going into mojang’s servers and deleting Minecraft permanently

You dont know shit about how programming and development in general is done. For a programmer to work on minecraft, you need to onboard them, meaning months of lost productivity for a product that frankly in microsofts eyes is a drop in their earnings. Which means taking said programmer from either another project (detrimental to the former project and useless for a period until they adapt to the codebase), from the bench (best case scenario but knowing microsoft there arent many on the bench) or hiring a new one altogether (the worst case scenario, highest risk and lowest reward ratio. They might be good, they might last 3 months and you wasted time and money training them). Its literally not that hard to see why
